What is IPL and what cosmetic conditions can it treat?

In today’s society, the portrayal of flawless celebrities in the media has seen many beauty treatments and cosmetic procedures soar in popularity, as consumers strive to perfect their images.  As people go in pursuit of skin perfection, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments helps you address many of the cosmetic and aesthetic imperfections that can affect confidence, self-esteem and an overall sense of well-being. Most commonly, unwanted hair and conditions that affect the face can be among the most embarrassing.

Twenty years ago, treatments to combat these issues were traditionally associated with laser technology.  However, research and development has proven that Intense Pulsed Light produces an equally effective outcome, as well as being faster and less expensive. IPL works by emitting a broad spectrum of light via a specially constructed Xenon flash lamp and focussing optics.

This non-laser technology converts the light to heat energy spanning across a broader range of wavelengths; this yields benefits for a number of skin conditions and disorders including acne, thread veins and Rosacea, as well as achieving permanent hair reduction

As the pulses of light are short in duration, clients experience virtually no discomfort, although a minor sensation may occasionally be experienced in sensitive areas; but this subsides immediately.

Beauty professionals and medical experts now consider IPL to be one of the most effective ways to achieve skin perfection and address a number of skin issues, safely, cost efficiently and permanently. Skin clinics, medical experts, beauty salons and spas now utilise IPL technology and whilst celebrities have popularise treatments, every day people are overcoming conditions and boosting their self-esteem by having a simple course of treatments.
